Passionate Reflection on Your North Star

When I was younger, hard work was my middle name, especially during my corporate career (I’ve got four planets in Capricorn to thank for that!). Early mornings, late nights, long hours, lots of travel. First one in, last one out. Long drives home at night. As I reflect, I can see how I lost my compass on other important values like health and family. And with even more reflection, can better understand how a balanced life can be so much more fulfilling.

Now, why this honest confession about my personal life? Because we are basking in the glow of a full super moon in Taurus ---- a ripe opportunity to reflect on what we value.   

Values can act as an internal compass, helping us to determine important from trivial. Values can also act as a set of core beliefs that influence our behavior and decision-making. Values help keep us aligned in tense circumstances. Values help us live a life with purpose. – In difficult situations, we can look to our values to ground us.

Now I can blame my 4 planets in Capricorn or I can recognize that I learned so much from this period of my life. Always know, we can reorient our values with the changing seasons of life. – Think about it. What did you value at age 14? Do you still hold those values?

So, are you ready to lean into this Taurus full super moon energy? Here’s an extensive list of values for your reflection. Notice what you feel drawn to. Can you identify the top three to five values that feel most important to you right now?  What is non-negotiable?

Now here’s the hard part. Do your actions align with your values? Take some time. Reflect. Journal. Be honest with yourself. It’s not just a yes or no. (The review of our values is on ongoing practice.)

Then start to make adjustments if necessary. See how it feels to consciously use your values as a north star.

Be ready to adjust your understanding of what is important to you. During these times of great change, it feels like this might be a good time to clarify what’s truly important to us and our communities. Co-create the world you want to see by using your values as your north star.
